On March 23, 2021, Tate Law Group was honored to present a $5,000 check to We Love Cann Park, matching donations raised by community members to benefit Cann Park and the surrounding areas. We were proud to attend a brief check presentation ceremony with community leaders and representatives in Johnson Square.
Attorney Mark Tate developed this charitable idea after attending and donating to a community back-to-school event put on by We Love Cann Park in June 2020. Upon hearing of other difficulties that the community was facing, he pledged that if they raised $5,000 for the community, he would match it. Community members promptly took up the challenge, and with the help of Black Lives Matter Georgia, We Love Cann Park reached the $5,000 goal.
In a press release, Attorney Tate stressed how crucial it is to support the community in these uncertain and trying times. He also explained how he hoped this would help start a trend of community support in Savannah and throughout the Coastal Empire.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has kept many of us in our homes and many people without jobs making it difficult to provide for their families or have the necessary essential tools to survive and excel,” Attorney Tate stated. “This is a way for Tate Law Group to provide for the younger and older generations in these communities who need it most.”
