Hello everyone, I assume you all had a busy week and are enjoying the nice beautiful weather that has been brought upon us. If you’re looking for something to do, allow me to invite you all on Saturday, February 24th from 1-3 pm for the book release of “Deadly Dust The Imperial Sugar Inferno” by Larry Peterson. A few years ago on February 7, 2008, a tragedy occurred where the sugar dust at the Imperial Sugar Refinery on Port Wentworth exploded, killing 14 workers and injuring an astonishing 39 more! Luckily, I was able to represent the bulk of the victims and obtained their groundbreaking recoveries by avoiding the many claims of immunity.
The book is incredibly interesting as it is written in a first-person narrative of dozens of injured workers. Employees spoke to investigators and said that there had not been any fire drills in over four years, and there was not even a working fire alarm on the day of the explosion. The incident has been called one of the 10 worst industrial disasters since 1945, as stated by The Georgia Institute of Technology. So come out and hear all about it at E.
